Pipes I

This was taken at a small construction site on the Stanford campus in 1991. It exemplifies my fascination with the controlled chaos and beauty that one can find in such places.

What I originally liked were simply the arrangement of the pipes, being able to see through one of them, and seeing it all through a net. My photography professor at Stanford pointed out the way the fence changes as it passes in front of the pipes: from dark-on-light to light-on-dark.
